Japan, a country where it's been traditionally popular to drink beer and sake during meals, has seen an explosion in wine consumption over the past 10 years. Its now not uncommon to see a Japanese person sitting in an izakaya (traditional inn) eating raw fish while drinking a bottle of Chilean red wine!
Increasingly alcohol research is being conducted in-situ and JMI offers the option of conducting qualitative, in-bar research upon request.
Alcohol categories that JMI has recently researched have included:
- beer
- wine
- champagne
- cocktails
- whiskey
The methods used include focus groups, IDIs, CLT, desk research, in-bar interviews, eye tracking (train advertisements), product tests....
