JMI is happy to announce that we will now be able to offer our clients wireless research, thanks to a recent agreement with J-Phone, Japan's giant mobile phone provider.
Using the Vodafone-owned Telecom's state-of-the-art survey software, JMI and J-Phone are confident that this new relationship will have much to offer companies seeking a fast and reliable way to acquire consumer data in Japan.
Mobile research provides a new channel for accessing consumers, revolutionary in terms of its reach, speed, and location targeting. Currently, around 60 million Japanese are connected to the Mobile Internet, surpassing the number of fixed line Internet connections. The user base is growing quickly and more than 80% of the world's Mobile Internet subscribers reside in Japan.
Mobile research is capitalizes on the ability to contact people wherever, whenever via the Mobile Internet. It has great potential in being able to conduct 'in situ' surveys.
This power of mobile research is best illustrated using an example. In a recent survey an email was sent just minutes after a television commercial has been aired in order to check whether consumers had seen the commercial and gauge what they immediately remember about the advertisement and its message. Speedy response rates, (in some cases up to 60% of responses are gathered within hours), and the ability to time the invitation to participate, are advantages of Mobile research.
Even more exciting is the ability for respondents to be targeted according to location. The latest handsets from J-Phone have a polling or location seeking function, which can identify where the handset is at any specific time. This means that a mobile survey can target those people who are currently at a baseball game - testing for sponsor or advertising awareness, or they can be targeted as they enter a certain department store, making the respondent a real-life mystery shopper.
This revolutionary technology is available now and we would be happy to answer any of your questions regarding JMI Wireless Research. For inquiries, please contact Joe Seavey at Contact Us.
