Participants at the 2004 ESOMAR APAC Conference have voted JMI's Vanessa
Oshima best speaker at the event. In addition, her address "Are
you being seen? Being visible in the cluttered marketing space of Asia" was
voted best presentation.
This year's conference was held in Shanghai from 28-30 March and the theme for the event was "Ready to play: Asia as the centre of global growth".
Ms. Oshima's presentation focused on the need for Visibility Research for outdoor media, POP, print advertising and packaging and the technologies currently in place for conducting such research in Asia.
This is the second year running that Ms. Oshima has topped the vote at the ESOMAR APAC conference.
In 2003, her paper "Wireless surveys: A powerful addition to the market research toolbox" was nominated for the John & Mary Goodyear Award at the conference held in Singapore. However, this year as a member of the conference organizing committee, Ms. Oshima was not eligible for the award.
