JMI and Toppan Insatsu collaborate on POP

JMI has started collaborating with Toppan Insatsu, one of Japan's largest and oldest print publishing companies.

Toppan was established in 1900 and today has over 11,000 employees. In recent years the company has been extending its business out from its core of printing to more added-value products such as specialist POP displays for in store promotions.

The e-business team of Toppan and JMI are now working together on the application of Eye-Tracking technology to evaluate the effectiveness of such POP materials. This has long been an under-researched area of marketing investment.

A spokesman for Toppan said "We see the value of Eye Tracking in demonstrating how higher quality POP materials can boost in-store visibility, and hence sales, for our clients"

Eye-tracking is an established methodology for evaluation and optimization of packaging designs and print commercials. In addition to POP designs it is also being used to evaluate shelf layouts and planograms.
