Applicable for Business Needs
New Service by Japan Market Intelligence K.K.

Japan Market Intelligence K.K. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Andrew Till) is starting a new marketing research service "Web Eye" from June 2006. This innovative solution is to suggest more effective and more efficient website design by digitally collecting data of eye movement while consumers are browsing websites and movie clips, combined with attitudinal data analysis.

Investigate Websites' Hotspots by "Eye Movement"
Japan Market Intelligence K.K. (JMI) has been providing services which are to provide beneficial feedback to clients' businesses in the field of POP, Sales Areas, Transport Ads, etc. The services include "PRS Eye-Tracking" and "CVG: Consumer Vision Goggles" measuring consumers' interests by analyzing movement of their gaze, which is to analyze what is actually seen and what is remembered as a consequence.
JMI's existing services and their consulting know-how are applied to the "Web Eye", coupled with the brand new technology. "Web Eye" is consulting service which digitally records consumers' gaze data while they are browsing websites and movie clips.

"Easily" digitalize fixation movement
What is unique about this "Web Eye" service is that respondents do not need to wear special equipment and it enables to record data in a usual situation. The "Web Eye" machine, which looks very similar to ordinary PC monitors, is equipped with a field-of-view camera and it accurately records fixation movement 50 times a second with reflected infra-red light from respondent's eye.
It has good tracking ability of respondents with glasses and contact lenses. As a result, data can be collected from a larger number of research samples.

Fixation Count, Duration, and Fixation Flow Various Analytical Frames Available

Fixation flow can be easily analyzed with…
· Percent Noting (Proportion of respondents who saw each element)
· Time to First Fixation
· Fixation Duration (Average time that respondents spent gazing each element)
· Fixation Count (The number of fixation at each element)
· Fixation Flow (Major flow of fixation movement on a page/image)
· Clicking Pattern (Major pattern of page viewing)

Also, as examples of data output formats, "Statistical Tables", "Heat Map" and "Fixation Flow" are available.

Consulting Service Supported by "Experience"
Based on the data collected by the research solutions mentioned above and "Behavioral analyses based on sensory information" accumulated at JMI, JMI consolidates respondents' behavioral data to statistical tables. Along with attitudinal data gathered by after interviews, JMI's staff analyze consumers' actual behavior and its background, and provide consulting services to more effectively convey information to consumers.

Not Just Websites, Movie clips, TV CM. Usage is Unlimited
"Web Eye" can collect fixation data from movie clips, websites, or anything that can be displayed on PC monitor. It enables you to gather data from various kinds of stimuli, not only websites but also movie clips or TV CM.
